In a concerted effort to assess healthcare delivery and strengthen sector collaboration, the Wassa East District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Alhassan Ibrahim, has embarked on a familiarization tour of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital, which serves as the District Hospital.
The visit provided a platform for the DCE to engage with management and staff of the facility, where he commended their dedication and unwavering service to the people of the district. Discussions during the tour centered on identifying key challenges confronting the hospital and exploring strategic interventions to improve healthcare outcomes.
Hon. Alhassan Ibrahim reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the facility, emphasizing that the provision of quality healthcare remains a top priority for his administration.
In a related development, the DCE also officiated at the handing-over ceremony of a newly constructed nurses’ quarters at Dompim, a community within the district. The project is expected to significantly improve accommodation for health workers, serving as a crucial incentive to attract and retain qualified personnel in the area.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ibrahim expressed profound appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful completion of the project, with special mention of the Chief and people of Dompim. He underscored the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the district’s healthcare infrastructure.
“The Assembly remains committed to prioritizing the welfare of health workers and improving infrastructure to ensure accessible and efficient healthcare delivery across the district,” the DCE stated.
The DCE was accompanied during the tours by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Evan Mark Andoh; Assistant Director, Mr. Patrick Acheampong; as well as heads of departments from NADMO, Development Planning, Works, and other administrative staff.
Present at the hospital to receive the delegation was the Medical Officer in Charge, Dr. Fareeda Adusei Wilson, who provided briefings on the facility’s operations and highlighted areas requiring urgent attention.
The twin initiatives underscore the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to bridge infrastructural gaps and foster a conducive working environment for health professionals in the Wassa East District.
