
The people of Saakye in the Wassa East District have received a major boost in education following the commissioning of an ultra-modern basic school by TechnipFMC, an NGO.
The project, commissioned on Friday, 24 April 2026, is expected to transform teaching and learning in the community.
The event was graced by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Alhassan Ibrahim, a Representative of the District Education Directorate, Mr. Affeku, Assembly Members, teachers and learners, traditional authorities (Nananom), and members of the Ekutuase Area Council.
In his remarks, the DCE expressed gratitude to TechnipFMC for their support and encouraged students to take their studies seriously. He also wished candidates preparing for the upcoming BECE in May the very best.
Speaking at the event, the Country Manager of TechnipFMC, Mr. Michael Kuma noted that the organization is proud to support the Saakye School Project, emphasizing that education is key to community development. He urged students to see the facility as a symbol of partnership and progress and expressed confidence that it will serve the community well.
The colourful event also featured cultural displays, choreography, and exhibitions by the pupils.
