The Wassa East District Health Directorate as part of the measures to reduce the impact of public unwillingness to take the covid-19 vaccines and encourage voluntary participation in the vaccination exercise organized a day’s sensitization training at Daboase in the Western Region.
The program dubbed Covid-19 Vaccination Hesitancy Training brought together about thirty (30) participants made up of Health workers, Vaccine educators, Assembly members and Opinion leaders.

Facilitating the training, a health promotion officer Mr. Mark Eduku observed that many people have demonstrated apathy and distrust for the vaccines, adding that high level of hesitancy has led to low demand for covid-19 vaccines and now there are three confirmed covid-19 cases.
In addition, Mr. Mark Eduku educated the health workers on how they should interact with people who are hesitant in taking the covid-19 vaccination. There was a demonstration to further teach how an interaction should occur between a health worker and a hesitant person.
